This 11-miler is new to the Elk-Kings lineup and we’re excited to offer a shorter option that doesn’t include ascending and descending Elk and Kings mountains. It is really a perfect race for runners newer to trail racing and who love ferns, those who do NOT want the exposure of climbing and descending the steep and technical mountains, and for people who want to race a really pretty trail that will still kick your butt. This route is a point-to-point on the Wilson River trail, starting with the 25K runners at Elk Creek.

The race starts at Elk Creek Campground, however, you will need to pick up your bib and take a shuttle from the the Smith Homestead, just east of the Tillamook Forest Center, on Highway 6. Please do not drive to the start line – bibs are only available at the Smith Homestead. The finish line is at the Smith Homestead as well.

There is no cutoff for the 11-miler, but it is a running race. That doesn’t mean you can’t walk sections, but please do not sign up if you intent is to walk the whole thing.
