Volcanic 50K & 25K

There is NOTHING like this one. This is the original Mt. St. Helens race and the 50K takes runners all the way around the volcano in Washington state. You’ll see the remaining destruction from the 1980 eruption, as well as the regrowth of the forest and surround environment. You’ll have some flowy single track, but lots more boulder fields (really just piles of volcanic rock that hop around on), river crossings, ropes to assist in ascending and descending river canyons, dry and exposed areas in the blast zone on the north side, and the most magical spring you’ll ever experience. This one is rugged and we really mean that. It’s super technical and there is no easy way to get off the mountain. Because of this, we require everyone to have a previous 50K trail race or have run the Volcanic 25K.

The 25K is also rugged and challenging, but you don’t have to go all the way around to experience the stunning beauty of this beast. The 25K shares the first six miles of the 50K route, but then drops down into the forest for a fun descent and then swings back to loop to the finish. It is not easy! There is no qualifier for this one, but we do suggest it not be your first-ever trail race, just for you enjoyment.

Registration opens February 1st. 50K is on August 1st and the 25K on August 2nd.
