Trail Work: PCT Logout #2

This is an all-day effort to clear around 40+ downed trees from the Pacific Crest Trail, primarily working between Forest Road 58 & Little Crater Lake. The project is intended for those running Mountain Lakes 100 and in need of trail work hours, however, if enough of those runners don’t sign up, anyone can sign up.
We’ll hike about 6 miles total for the day, carrying saws, tools, and supplies. We’ll break into a chainsaw team and a crosscut team. You will be a “swamper”, helping to prep the areas before we cut and then removing the cut logs and branches/debris. It is hard, but very rewarding, work. We are working on both the Mountain Lakes and the Mt Hood 50M & 50K courses, so if you’re running one of those races, you’ll appreciate your work even more when you go by.
We have another work party the the day before (Saturday, May 30). You can sign up for one or both days. Registration with the Pacific Crest Trail Association is required. Details will come from the PCTA once you sign up.
