A last-person-standing format near Bend, Oregon, starting October 19th and ending when there is just one runner still running. Racers run a 4.5-mile loop in the high desert, starting Saturday morning, and then every hour on the hour. If you don’t finish your loop in an hour, you are done. Whatever time you finish ahead of that 60-minute mark is time for you to rest and recover before heading out on the next loop.
This is a great format to see just how far you can go. Think you can get in 50 miles. How about 100? Or what about 200 miles? It is also a good way to experience running at night and through the night, but you don’t have to be out in the middle of nowhere by yourself to do it.
