The Elk-Kings Trail Races are hard. Each of them. There’s the original 25K distance that takes you up and over Elk Mountain and Kings Mountain. It’s technical and rugged and you’ll be lucky to be able to run some sections. Then there’s the 50K that isn’t a joke either, even though you don’t have to summit those two mountains. This ultra runs along the Wilson River trail, with all its ups and downs (and lovely scenery). And if either of those aren’t enough to push you past your limit, there’s the Mountain Marathon course that involves two climbs up Elk Mountain (one backside, one frontside) and two summits and descents of Kings Mountain. It’s no joke.
All three are beautiful fall races, with the colors popping and the views stunning. So, which you gonna do?
The race is on Sunday (not Saturday) October 4, 2020. The races will finish at the Smith Homestead instead of the Tillamook Forest Center.
