Elk-Kings Trail Races

October 17 @ 7:30 am - 5:00 pm

Back after a break (we heard you loud and clear), the Elk-Kings Trail Races are returning to the Fall calendar, and with a new distance too.

The classic and one-of-a-kind steep and rugged Elk-Kings 25K takes runners to the summits of both Elk and Kings mountains. Not for the feint of heart or weak of quads, this race packs a punch and you’ll be so amazed at what you accomplish. It’s got 5800′ of gain, much in the first 3 miles.

The 50K was to cover the entirety of the Wilson River trail this year, but a spring landslide still has a portion of the western end of the trail closed. But don’t worry, you’ll still run the whole race on the Wilson River trail because we’ll take you on the Idiot Creek trail, aka as the Wilson extension as this trail is being built to continue even further east. There’s no summiting mountains on this one, but you still get 6500′ of gain and loss.

Debuting this year is the 11-mile point-to-point course that is on the Wilson River trail. You’ll start with the 25K racers, but continue on the Wilson River trail when they make their turn up Elk Mountain. Nothing is easy in the Tillamook Forest and this route has 2100′ of gain.

All races end at the Smith Homestead where we’re grilling up burgers and good times for everyone.
