Mt. Hood 50 Lottery Has a Friend Refund

No one really likes a race lottery. As a race director, you feel badly for the people who want to run your race but, by the luck of the draw, they can’t. As a runner, it makes it hard to plan your race schedule when you don’t know if you’ll get into a race. And it’s even worse when you are planning to run a race with friends and some get in and others don’t. We have a way to make that last point a little easier – the Friend Refund.

For the Mt. Hood 50-Mile race, we are once again offering the Friend Refund. If your name is drawn in the lottery on January 13th, and your friend’s is not, we will refund 100% of the race price if you notify us that you want a refund by 5:00 pm on Sunday, January 15. The refund will not include the Ultrasignup processing fees.

To request a Friend Refund, contact us via this form by the deadline.

The Mt. Hood 50 Mile lottery registration opens on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 7:00 am and closes on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 6:00 pm. We will draw 150 names from all who register and publish those names on January 13th. You can watch the lottery drawing live on the Go Beyond Racing Facebook page.

Those who are not selected are placed onto a wait list in the order they are drawn. Don’t be too discouraged if you end up on the wait list, as we typically move a lot of people off the list.

Mt. Hood 50K registration also opens on January 4th, but is not a lottery. That registration is open until the race fills, and then it’ll move to a wait list.

Go Beyond Racing’s cancellation policy provides a 50% credit toward a future race. We are making an exception for the Mt. Hood 50 Mile Lottery with this Friend Request because, well, running with friends is the best.
