Go Beyond Racing’s 2024 race schedule is here! There are some big changes for this coming year, with the (very sad) retirement of one of our most popular races, and some date changes to a few races.
The most anticipated news is that there’ll be another Oregon 200! After the smashing success of this year’s inaugural event, we are full speed ahead with a 2024 race. This next edition is August 23-27. Same course and venue as this year.
After all kinds of adjustments to the 2023 Smith Rock Ascent to accommodate the insane popularity of the state park, and the migrating deer, we are so extremely disappointed to say that we are not able to put on this race in 2024. This was one of our original races, back in 2013, and had grown to be our most popular event in terms of number of runners. We’ve tried everything working with the Forest Service and the State Park, and even with our seniority over other races in the park, the only option we were left with is a July date. Given the heat at that time of year, it is too unsafe to host a race then. If we are given the opportunity to bring this back in the future, you better believe we will.
The next big change is with the Wy’east Wonder 50-miler and 50K. After stressing about snow levels and having a very short window for trail clearing the last few years, we are moving this race to September. The Wy’east Wonder is on September 7, 2024.
A few other changes include moving Wood You Rather to early May, from mid-April. Bristow 24/12/6 Hour Run is back to a mid-June date. Mountain Lakes 100 is no longer a lottery, but Mt. Hood 50-miler still is. Lastest Not Fastest** is not on the calendar for this next year. This one has waned in popularity and with our heavy late summer/early fall schedule, we decided we’re going to give this one a rest. We’re also leaving Gnar Gnar off our schedule for 2024.
**UPDATE: Lastest Not Fastest was so fun and so popular this year, and we had many people begging us to keep it, so we are. We will put on this race in 2024. The trade off is that Elk-Kings 25K & 50K will not occur next year.

We’ll fill in hosted trail work parties later, but you can expect one with the Forest Park Conservancy and a logout with the Pacific Crest Trail Association at a minimum. And of course we’ll have our annual Volunteer Party after the end of the season.
