This is the first year that Mountain Lakes 100 is using a lottery for registration. It sold out in less than 30 minutes last year. We know how frustrating lotteries (and quick sell-outs) can be when friends are trying to all get into a race together. So, we have decided to offer our Friend Refund program for Mountain Lakes 100, just like we do for the Mt. Hood 50-Miler lottery.
The Friend Refund gives you a way to get a your money back if you had planned to run the race with friends or family, and they didn’t get chosen during the lottery drawing, and are too far down on the wait list to give you confidence that they’ll get in. Here’s how it works:
The Mountain Lakes 100 lottery is open for registration from February 1st starting at 7:00 a.m. Pacific and closes at 6:00 p.m. on February 7th. The drawing occurs on February 8th.
You can watch the lottery drawing, live, online via the Go Beyond Racing Facebook page and Twitter. We will randomly draw all the names from those entered into the lottery. The first 170 selected are in the race. The remaining names are placed on the wait list in the order they are chosen. Registration for the wait list opens back up on Saturday, February 9th. If you aren’t familiar with a wait list, you can learn about how the wait list process works here.
One hundred miles is a long way, and we understand that running that far with your buddy is ideal. But please know, Mountain Lakes 100 is a special race and you will make friends along the way. If your friend doesn’t get in, you can still do it on your own!
