Would you know what to do if you came upon an unconscious person while on a trail run? Or what if your running partner fell and broke her leg and there’s no cell service? How do you deal with anaphylactic shock from a bee sting? A Wilderness First Aid course is a must for all trail runners and race volunteers and we are thrilled to co-host one just for you.
This two-day Adventure Medics Wilderness First Aid (WFA) class is a 16-hour course that covers medical and trauma emergencies in the remote setting. Cost is $225 and is limited to 16 participants. Register
This is a custom course for Go Beyond Racing. The classroom session on day one takes place at the Tillamook Forest Center (finish line of our Elk-Kings Trail Races!). Day two is a field session and will be based from the Jones Creek Day Use Area (parking lot used for the Elk-Kings Trail Races). This is an hour drive from Portland. There is camping at the Elk Creek campground nearby.
Upon completion of this course, you will receive a WFA card from Adventure Medics. This course includes a field exercise that will give you the opportunity to practice the hands-on skills and techniques learned in the classroom.
