Now there are THREE beautiful courses in the Tillamook Forest, a brand new Mountain Marathon, a 25K and a 50K.
The Mountain Marathon is going to be tough. There is 8,000 feet of gain in 27.5 miles for this race. You’ll go up Elk Mountain twice, once via the backside and again via the standard way. Plus you get to reach the King Mountain summit twice, and run down it twice.
The 25K race is a very steep and technical course run on single-track trails in the Tillamook State Forest. Runners will summit two mountains – Elk and Kings Mountains – and involve ~5800 ft of gain.
The 50K, is less technical but run on single-track trails all along the Wilson River Trail and has 6500ft of gain. It is a double out and back.
All distances finish across the beautiful bridge to the Tillamook Forest Center where your friends and family are waiting for you, along with food, beer, hard cider, and chocolate milk.
